AYA DOMENIG
Regie
Aya Domenig wurde 1972 in Japan geboren. Von 1992-2000 studierte sie Ethnologie, Filmwissenschaft und Japanologie an der Universität Zürich und schloss ihr Studium mit dem Dokumentarfilm «Oyakata» (Der Lehrmeister) ab. Von 2001-2005 studierte Aya Domenig Filmregie an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). Ihr Diplomfilm «Haru Ichiban» (Fiction, 22 Min.) wurde an diversen internationalen Filmfestivals aufgeführt und am Filmfestival Premier Plans in Angers mit dem Prix Cinécinéma ausgezeichnet.
2015 feierte ihr ersten langer Kinodokumentarfilm «Als die Sonne vom Himmel fiel» seine Weltpremiere am 68. Internationalen Filmfestival von Locarno (Semaine de la Critique). Der Film wurde für den Schweizer Filmpreis 2016 nominiert in den Kategorien «Bester Dokumentarfilm» und «Beste Filmmusik» und gewann den Schweizer Filmpreis für «Beste Filmmusik».
Aya Domenig ist Mitglied der Schweizer Filmakademie sowie der European Film Academy.
